I'm Taking Over

Well, I (Lainey) have decided to take over these posts from now on. Mommy and Daddy don't really know how I feel all the time (although they try their darndest), so this is a good way to get my feelings out! I figure it will be more fun to read what my life is like from my perspective anyway ;)
I LOVE my buggy rides at daycare! I get to go outside two times a day with all my friends in this cool red buggy! Once we're outside my older friends get to play on the equipment, but since I'm still little I have to sit here. Most of the time I get bored waiting for them so I take little naps while until we're ready to stroll around again. Mommy wanted Miss Beth to take a picture of me in the buggy, so here it is. I look pretty ridiculous, they always wrap me up like a baby burrito when I'm sleepy...ugh!

Last weekend mommy went to a bachelorette party, whatever that is, and daddy stayed home to play with me. We had lots of fun while mommy was out with her friends! We read books, played in my swing and daddy hummed me to bed (thank goodness he didn't sing, I don't have the heart to tell him he doesn't have a very good singing voice). Recently, this furry thing has started to hang around me more. I'm pretty sure this thing is a cat who mom and dad call Meadow. I know she caused mommy alot of grief when I was first born (peeing on all my stuff, chewing on my toys, etc), but I think she's kind of getting used to me and I'm kind of getting used to her. I know sometimes she can be a bit moody, so hopefully she doesn't give me any attitude otherwise I'll have to show her who's boss around here! I'll post more later - it's getting close to my bedtime so I better go. Good night!

Finally something else to eat!

Lainey amazes me everyday. She's becoming more alert and aware of her surroundings all the time. Recently, she started to hold her own bottle. She gets frustrated at first because she forgets to hold the bottle up in order to get anything to come out. Once she remembers (or gets a little help from mom or dad) she does great! In fact, if you take her bottle away from her she gets mad! We just started her on some rice cereal which she seems to really like. She was a little confused on how to eat from a spoon, but towards the end of the bowl she got the hang of it. Learning how to eat from a bowl requires more clean up effort on mom and dad's part. She had rice cereal everywhere......ears, nose, clothes, neck rolls, hands, dad's legs, etc! It was fun to see her try something new to eat. As I dropped her off at daycare this morning I noticed a new little girl in the infant room. Her name is Madison and is adorable! I'm sure they'll be great friends and create lots of trouble for their teachers Miss Beth and Miss Trina :)

Almost four months

So Lainey will be four months on the 10th, hard to believe. She's already showing signs of teething (drooling, knawing on her hands, runny nose, etc), which seems early but I guess it's really not. In addition to her teething symptoms, she threw up and had a extremely loose stools this morning. Her first sickness, I feel so helpless :( Not much we can do as far as medication at this point b/c she is so young. Benadryl is about all she can take, the upside for mom is she's more sleepy! Lainey is also working on holding her own bottle which is fun to watch. The bottle is too heavy for her to hold with 4 ounces, but boy when she gets half way thru she wants to hold it! She is in the best place she could be for child care. They are working with her on sign language (she's working on signing "more" right now), they help her to raise up on her arms and also encourage her to babble in conversations! How the heck you babble in conversations is beyond me, but she seems to be doing well. She's the only girl and the youngest baby right now in the infant room, so she gets spolied with attention. It makes me feel good she's loved :)

We went back to Ellsworth this weekend to play in a golf tournament. Ryan and I both played in the tourney, so Lainey hung out with the grandmas. She saw all four grandmas this weekend(Mema, Grandma Peschka, Great Grandma Claussen and Great Grandma Rosie)! Makes me miss my Grandma Wilson and wish she could be around to see Lainey grow up.
The pictures - Lainey's cousin Chloe showed us how to pick strawberries on her field trip at school when we were out in DC. Her cousin Dylan had a baseball game, his team is also known as the Bad News Bears. It was good to see them this summer and Lainey enjoyed her new cousins! The rest are just some fun pictures around the house. Enjoy!
