Last Wednesday we had our first sonogram. That's when it finally hit home we are going to be parents. It's so amazing to see how everything is fully developed at this point, but the baby is only 14 ounces! From here on out it's just a matter of the baby (and mom) gaining weight. The doctor said everything looks perfect :) We told Susan, the sonographer, that we didn't want to know the sex of the baby, so it was interesting how she referred to Baby P. She doesn't like to use "it," and most times she would say "the baby," but one time she used "she" and the other time she used "he." Ryan was trying to figure out why Susan said "she" first and "he" second - who knows. She asked me if I had any maternal instincts on what I thought the baby was, and I said "Maternal instincts?! I'm still getting used to the fact that I'm pregnant!" I think Ryan is convinced it's a boy and I have no clue, so it will be fun to guess and see who's right in the end. The picture I posted is one of my favorites. We have many more which I'm sure many of you will see over the holidays. I've been reminded that I need to update a belly pic, so I'll do that tomorrow.
PS - if you are experienced and can tell from the picture what the baby is PLEASE DON'T TELL US, we really don't want to know :)
